304LN is a type of austenitic stainless steel, which is a non-magnetic steel alloy that contains high levels of chromium and nickel. The “LN” in the name stands for “low carbon nitrogen,” indicating that this particular grade of stainless steel has a lower carbon and nitrogen content than standard 304 stainless steel.

The reduced carbon and nitrogen levels in 304LN stainless steel provide several advantages over standard 304 stainless steel, including improved resistance to intergranular corrosion, increased strength, and enhanced weldability. Additionally, the lower carbon content makes this grade of stainless steel less susceptible to sensitization, a type of corrosion that occurs when chromium carbides form at grain boundaries in the steel due to exposure to high temperatures.
