SUS410L is a low-carbon, non-hardening ferritic stainless steel that belongs to the 13% chromium family of stainless steels. It is commonly used for applications that require good corrosion resistance and moderate strength, such as automotive exhaust systems, heat exchangers, and kitchen equipment.

Compared to other types of stainless steel, SUS410L has relatively low carbon content, which makes it less prone to sensitization and intergranular corrosion. Additionally, its low carbon content makes it more formable and easier to weld than other ferritic stainless steels.

SUS410L is often used as a replacement for other types of stainless steel that contain higher levels of carbon, such as SUS410 or SUS430, in order to reduce the risk of intergranular corrosion. However, its lower carbon content also means that it has lower strength and hardness than other ferritic stainless steels.
